How To Make Your Own Captain America Halloween Costume
With the arrival of Captain America into cinemas this year, it is highly likely that he will be making appearances in doorways as young children and adults dress up as their favourite protagonist. It is likely a Captain America Halloween costume will not be in short supply.
As with many costumes, these might appear cheap to some of the avid fans and may not reflect the high standards the heroes tailor their costumes to. Often a higher quality version becomes available through specialist stores, though can carry heft price tags. Opting to develop your own may be a worthwhile endeavour.
The costumes in the comics and the movie are typically very similar. In the comics, though, Cap did not wield a firearm and was a hand to hand expert. Going out armed is not suggested, as police may not appreciate your adherence to the film's protagonist as much as your friends will whilst wandering the streets.

The blue from the torso stops at the arms around halfway between the shoulder and elbow. Presumably from there down it is all white, and a pair of red gloves are donned over the top, extending halfway to the elbow. Blue trousers with folded over red boots, might be difficult to find nowadays, but it's possible to modify some wellingtons.
The shield is has three rings of red, white, red, a central blue and a white star.
